Description
During the Week of March 23rd, @BlackRifleCoffeeCompany teamed up with @WWIIBeyondTheCall to escort five WWII veterans back to Iwo Jima for the 81st anniversary of the battle.
Don Graves, Nils Mockler, Delmar Beard, Jim Tucker, and Joe Etheredge all fought in the Pacific, many on Iwo Jima.
They also enabled Keith Kohler, the son of an Iwo Jima Veteran, travel to Iwo Jima as well.
The Battle of Iwo Jima left indelible mark on the Kohler family. Eddie Kohler, a young Marine, was KIA on the first day of the battle while serving as a flamethrower. His older brother,
Charlie, Keith’s Father, fought alongside him and endured the same brutal combat that took his brother’s life. Charlie survived the battle, but carried that loss for the rest of his life until his passing on July 6, 2024.
Now, through Keith’s journey, that story came full circle.
While supporting these veterans on their return, he walked in the footsteps of his father, honoring both his father and uncle on the very ground where their story unfolded.
