The Hero Xoom 160 is powered by 156cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 14.6 bhp and a torque of 14 Nm. With front disc and rear drum brakes, Hero Xoom 160 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Xoom 160 scooter weighs 142 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 7 liters. Design-wise, the Hero Xoom 160 gets an adventure maxi-scooter styling with muscular bodywork and a tall stance. Its fascia includes a split LED headlight, muscular bodywork with a central spine, tall visor, and a single-piece seat. The TVS Ntorq 150 runs on a 149.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with three valves. This motor is based on the Ntorq 125’s unit but is bigger and lighter to extract more performance. It produces 13.2 PS and 14.2 Nm. The Ntorq 150 feels quick right from the get-go. Even though our ride was limited to a racetrack, the scooter displayed strong acceleration throughout, with impressive roll-on performance, going from 30 to 60 kmph in no time. This should make overtaking in city traffic effortless and give the Ntorq 150 the feel of being one of the quickest scooters on the road. It comes equipped with two riding modes: Street, which keeps the throttle smooth and tones down the throttle response, and Race, which sharpens throttle response and delivers more power. TVS claims a 0-60 kmph sprint time of 6.3 seconds in Race mode. The engine feels peppy and eager to rev, yet remains refined for everyday use. Adding to this is TVS’ hybrid (iGO assist) system, which provides an extra torque boost to improve acceleration. However, the hybrid assist is only active in Race mode, a slight downside, as it could have been useful in daily commuting too.
