Like with drivers, you want a bit of toe lift at address when setting up to the ball . This is because you are more likely to swing through impact at a flatter lie than where you set up to the ball. Partly because a lot of people will stand up more at impact but also because the shaft will be flexing slightly as well which will cause the toe to point down more so setting it up in the air slightly will compensate for it . This just allows for a neutral strike to the ground and if you’re toe down at impact it will start the ball further to the right and be more likely to fade / slice .
