Disney’s Frontierland at Magic Kingdom is already changing — and Piston Peak National Park is officially in progress. With Tom Sawyer Island, the Rivers of America, and the Liberty Square Riverboat being removed to make room for a new Cars-inspired expansion, one of the most historic areas of Walt Disney World is being completely transformed. Disney says Piston Peak will continue the story of Frontierland with a national park theme inspired by the American West, the Rocky Mountains, waterfalls, geysers, off-road trails, and the world of Pixar’s Cars. But for many Disney fans, this feels like the end of the Frontierland we grew up with.
