Sen. Legarda gives statement on legitimacy of June 3 Senate Session

On Saturday, June 6, Senator Loren Legarda gives a statement regarding the legitimacy of the Senate session last June 3. Legarda cites the 1987 Constitution to support the claim that the said session and voting are moot. She claims that the Avelino v. Cuenco argument is invalid since the case occurred in 1949, when the Senate was still under the 1935 Constitution, and is now adhering to the 1987 Constitution. Legarda then reminds people to respect the Constitution and fight for democracy in the Senate, for institutions, and for the People.
