The Incredible Comeback: Halston Haile’s journey from medical miracle to MVP

HAMILTON, Texas (KWTX) - Halston Haile’s journey to return to football following a devastating injury in the 2024 playoffs is one for the big screen. “It’s a like a movie or something,” said Hamilton head football coach Ryan Marwitz. “Kid goes out, comes back from injury. Team ends the season the year before one game short, and the next year, come all the way back and get right back to the state championship, and he wins MVP.” Haile, now a senior at Hamilton helped lead the 2024 Bulldogs to what was then their best football season in school history. Hamilton was 13-0 heading into a fourth round playoff game against Axtell, with a trip to the state semi-finals on the line. During the game Haile took a hit that knocked him out of the game.
