Operation Tramline

Spotted on camera! Since 2015, we have been working alongside the police at a national level to reduce the number of drivers causing harm to themselves and others. Our goal is to encourage driver compliance and reduce incidents caused by unsafe driver behaviour. Equipped with multiple cameras and driven by specially trained police officers, our HGV cabs drive on motorways and major A roads to identify drivers engaging in unsafe activities behind the wheel, such as using their mobile phones, laptops, or even reading or cooking while driving. Thanks to the elevated position of the cabs, police are able to drive alongside other vehicles and capture footage of dangerous driving behaviour. Since its inception, Operation Tramline has recorded almost 50,000 offences with around 35,000 vehicles stopped by police nationwide.
