PM Carney and Philippines President Marcos Jr. hold a news conference in Vancouver – July 2, 2026

In Vancouver, Prime Minister Mark Carney and Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. hold a ceremony to sign several declarations of intent and memorandums of understanding. The two leaders then take questions from the media on a variety of topics, including the possibility of a free trade agreement between Canada and the Philippines, relations between those two countries and others, and the possibility of a new oil pipeline to the west coast of Canada. Several ministers from both countries are also in attendance.
