The physical pain was something I tried to hide for years. It honestly just became a part of everyday life. But what I can’t often put into words is the mental anguish from it all. It’s a battle unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and it led to some very dark times. Ultimately, that was less easy to hide. I used my videos and music as a way to distract myself from it all, for as long as I could. But eventually it became too much. I lost a lot of friends through it all. I almost lost my family. And I almost lost my life. Somehow, I’m here. Through a lot of pain, processing, treating, and healing I am happy to report that I am better than I’ve ever been. Physically and mentally. One of the hardest parts of it all was accepting the “monster” inside of me. Accepting the darkness and using it to find the light. I often use comedy to get through hard things. Though this song is about deeply personal and dark stuff, I couldn’t resist approaching it from a sort of irreverent, lighthearted perspective. After all, it’s those two contrasting personalities that make up who I am. I hope you enjoy. And honestly, I’m just excited to be back doing what I love most.
