Attorney says accused in monk seal case was trying to protect turtles, not injure animal

The defense attorney representing Washington state resident Igor Lytvynchuk, who accused of throwing a rock toward an endangered Hawaiian monk seal off Maui, said his client never intended to harm the animal and believed he was trying to protect nearby sea turtles.
