Description

Big shout-out to Neco for helping me on this project One mission is to complete this job! It only takes a real operator to safely deliver this load—one mistake could be a disaster. Zouki equipment is transferring a Caterpillar (CAT) 385 excavator, which generally weighs between 85 and 106 metric tons. It has been parked for over 10 years but has started and is running fine. The 2007 Mack granite is running an 8LL deep-reduction gearset with 500 horsepower. It has a 65,000-pound rear, original Mack spring suspension with a camelback, and a 9.5-ratio diff. The truck was built to carry up to 200 tons! It has a triple frame. The Goldhofer multi-axle trailer goes beyond ordinary transport vehicles; it is carefully engineered to move some of the world's heaviest and most complex loads safely and efficiently. They've configured it as a low boy. The Goldhofer, as you know, can be configured in different ways. Currently, it is set up as a low boy. Basically, the gooseneck is a deck called a crawler deck. What they did was remove the sides of the crawler deck and turn it into a beam trailer. This is why the excavator is close to the ground—the track of the excavator is near the ground. They want to lower the height of the tall machine. When Zouki handles extremely tall machines, they configure the low boy as a beam trailer. Each axle has four wheels, making a total of 12 wheels. Each wheel set is supported by two hydraulic suspensions. One wheel set includes two wheels on each side. This setup results in four wheels per axle. Each hydraulic piston can lift up to 35 tons. So, each axle can carry 35 tons. With three axle lines, the combined lifting capacity of the low boy is calculated by multiplying 35 tons by three. Every little bit helps!
