Description

This video is Part 2 of 2 from Malaysia. If you missed Part 1, check it out : https://youtu.be/cLyirZcyoXM?si=YDZCSYrM6ztleFlX SPECIAL THANK YOU to our travel sponsors and partners : We couldn't have done this incredible trip without the wonderful people at Sticky Rice Travel. They helped us plan the most perfect trip around Sabah and I can't recommend them enough! https://www.stickyricetravel.com/ And a special thank you to the folks at Sabah Tourism. They provided our EXACT ITINERARY for you to see here: https://campaigns.sabahtourism.com/bucket-list-family/ Did you see our new Bucket List app?? You can find it on our website : thebucketliststudios.com The rest of our Malaysia visit was to Sandakan and the surrounding areas. We visited the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and The Bornean Sunbear Conservation Centre. After our visit we took a boat to the Lower-Kinabatangan River where we stayed at an incredible eco-lodge right on the river. This is where we saw the most beautiful momma and baby orangutan! This is also where we saw the reticulated python eat a mouse.  Our final stop was to Danum Valley where we stayed at The Borneo Rainforest Lodge that is Class 1 Protected Rain Forest. It's one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen and we were honored to see our earth's rainforest in it's purest form. Not to mention, lots of creepy crawlies and some flesh eating fish. ;) We loved our visit to Sabah, Malaysia and can not recommend it enough. Sticky Rice travel is offering 10% off our exact itinerary. Please reach out to them if you are considering a visit.  Malaysia, you’ve stolen our hearts! 🌿✨ This trip has been a whirlwind of incredible adventures, unforgettable moments, and a little humor to keep things interesting. From the towering rainforest canopies to exploring underwater wonders, we’ve truly embraced the magic of this place as a family. One of the highlights? Spotting an orangutan in the wild for the very first time. "One of my very favorite things in the whole wide world is seeing something in nature for the very first time," Garrett said, and this moment left us all in awe. The kids were equally amazed by the glowing fireflies, lighting up the jungle like tiny Christmas lights, and the wildlife encounters didn’t stop there—we even spotted a massive crocodile that gave us a little thrill! But, of course, every adventure comes with its funny moments. Dorothy bravely faced leeches (her expressions were priceless!), Manilla had a not-so-relaxing first fish pedicure, and Cali was full of endless curiosity, always keeping us laughing and learning along the way. We ventured deep into caves (yes, with bats and guano), cruised along the Kinabatangan River, and soaked in the beauty of nature at every turn. Whether it was hiking, boating, or just taking a quiet moment to appreciate the wonder around us, this trip reminded us why we love exploring the world as a family. These are the moments we live for—the ones where curiosity meets courage, and wonder meets laughter. Thank you, Malaysia, for all the memories and lessons. We’re so grateful to be sharing these adventures with you, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. 00:00 - Do we Get to See Them?! 04:26 - Ok, Let's Talk About this Amazing Human 06:46 - We're Staying Here?! 10:03 - The GRIT... 15:25 - BATS EVERYWHERE 18:41 - Keep an eye out for Leeches 23:51 - Fish Pedicures 32:23 - Mom don't look at this part 33:28 - Boat Trip to our Surprise 40:35 - We Saw Fireflies GETTING MINI BARRELED ON THE SKELETON BAY COAST!
