In October 1918, the Lost Battalion was trapped behind enemy lines, out of ammo, and being shelled by their own artillery. Their last hope wasn’t a rescue team, it was a pigeon. Shot, blinded, and missing a leg, Cher Ami still flew through enemy fire to deliver the message that stopped the bombardment and saved them.
