The Best Light for Landscape Photography with Austin James Jackson

You may have heard that sunset and sunrise offer the best light for landscape photography, and while that is hard to disagree with, understand that other types of light can be excellent for outdoor photography as well! When you’re shooting at sunset or sunrise, and you get great clouds that light up, it can be worth using your ultra-wide to capture the whole scene. But later in the day, when it’s overcast, turn to your telephoto lens. The clouds act as a huge softbox, making the light very even across your scene, which is perfect for capturing the finer details in the landscape.
