Description
After servicing this 1990's emergency radio in the last video, it was time to test it. RX was initially lousy, but fine once Mr C was a mile away. Now this could be poor design or could be the FM deector coil in the wrong peek positon....that's why we do these tests.
Recorded 5th June 2026
Mr Chippie drove along our usual 6-mile test route, the 'wrong side' of a hill. He stopped at the five mile point to test this set as a low power static test. The radio was set for 3.5W for full power & 0.4W (400mW) for low power. The only option is to use the built-in electret throughout.
Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio (and new mike) which is fitted to the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' marker on this video.
