My thoughts on the PLANETRONIKA Pilot

Did you know this in PLANETRONIKA Recently a new indie pilot called planetronika has released on youtube. Is it any good? Let’s talk about it. So planetronika created by Rafael Andaya came out 4 days ago. The best way to describe it is it’s a slice of life in a 2000’s cartoon style about the main character Butterfly and her best friend freestyle. It features a bunch of fan service and adult themes as well. During the pilot butterfly and freestyle play basketball and things don’t go to plan. I genuinely really enjoyed this one. Firstly the art style is superb, it’s got so much personality. The environments and character designs look beautiful, if you grew up watching 2000’s y2k cartoons you’ll really appreciate the style. It’s even got the TV pg at the top left, and it’s locked to 480p. The animation is entertaining, with plenty of fun references and cute visual gags. The writing and voice acting is also great, it’s quality stuff. The humour was also quite charming, i found myself laughing throughout. So is there any problems? I think the main thing is just the pacing, it’s a little disjointed. We don’t learn much about the motivations of the characters, and the pacing drags the jokes out a bit, messing with the timing. So i reckon if they tightened up the pacing a little and the show got a story it would take off and do quite well. So what do you think? Have you heard of PLANETRONIKA? Let me know down below.
