Fixing Vacuum Leaks on an Old Dodge Truck | AC Works Again, 4WD Still Fighting Us

Today was one of those real ranch life days where you’re fixing what’s broke so you can keep moving cattle, hauling dirt, and getting work done. We started chasing a vacuum issue on our old Dodge pickup that affected more than we realized. On these trucks, that vacuum system can control the AC vent selector, cruise control, and even the four-wheel drive. We tracked down a broken, brittle vacuum line, spliced in new hose, and immediately got air blowing out of the vents like it should again. That alone felt like a win. From there, we kept wrenching. We worked through more “standard Dodge problems,” tried a seat cushion swap that turned into a fail, then moved on to replacing a speed sensor which helped knock out the ABS and brake light issues. The four-wheel drive is still giving us a fit, but we’re not quitting. It’s one fix at a time.
