Description

A Japanese raccoon dog (Nyctereutes viverrinus, family Canidae) went back into a winter den in the defoliated secondary forest. And then a Jungle Crow (aka large-billed crow; Corvus macrorhynchos, family Corvidae) was heard calling (cawing) repeatedly nearby. After a while, a brave one of jungle crows came flying and landed on the snow beside the burrow entrance. Captured with my new trailcam in the late-morning (around 10:40 AM) of late-February 2025 in Japan. It sprinkled snow and the air temperature was 3 degrees Celsius.
