This is the all-new Chery Tiggo 4!
Mat’s got his hands on this affordable family car to see if this latest offering from China has enough to sway you away from more established competitors like the Renault Captur and Volkswagen T-Roc.
So let’s get into it, starting with the design.
On first glance, it’s easy to see that the Tiggo 4 designers have taken inspiration from several other cars. The front end looks reminiscent of a DS7, the rear and side profile look similar to a T-Roc, and the back end looks like a VW Tiguan! Ultimately though, it still looks smart. The large grille helps it stand out, and around the back there are cool-looking taillights and a full-length light bar.
So while the outside may seem a bit all over the place, it’s a much more premium experience on the inside. There are soft-touch materials throughout the cabin, there are separate buttons for the climate control, and the infotainment & digital dials screen are clear and easy to use. There’s a whole load of storage throughout, and the front seats are pretty comfortable, even if they are missing lumbar support.
Under the bonnet you’ll find a 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine that can deliver an impressive 204hp! It has a top speed of 93mph, and can accelerate to 60mph in 8.9 seconds.
The Chery Tiggo 4 is a seriously affordable car. The entry-level starts at just £19,995, while the range-topper (that we have in this video) costs just £21,995! That seriously undercuts competitors like the Dacia Duster and Renault Captur, so is the Tiggo 4 the smart choice if you’re looking for a new car? Stick with Mat and see for yourself!
