Italy car ramming: Several injured after suspect drives into Modena crowd, pulls knife

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after driving his car into a crowd of people in Modena, Italy on Saturday. At least eight people were severely injured as a result, including a woman who lost both of her legs after being rammed into the window of a local shop. Another man was stabbed after trying to apprehend the assailant who tried to flee the scene after crashing the vehicle. While I was trying to help the woman whose legs had been amputated, he ran away. So I chased him,” a bleeding Luca Signorelli told reporters. “I was stabbed twice, once in the heart and once in the head,” he added. The suspect, who was born in Bergamo and of North African origin, was receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders, an interior ministry's source said. An investigation is ongoing.
