Nagavara Lake Right Now 😯 | Desilting by GBA

Just like Ulsoor and Hebbal Lake, Nagavara Lake has been deliberately drained as part of a major rejuvenation drive led by the Greater Bengaluru Authority. The ₹18+ crore project involves large-scale desilting, strengthening of lake bunds, and restructuring of inlets and outlets to improve water flow and storage capacity. Officials have stated that nearly one lakh cubic metres of accumulated silt will be removed, while wetlands within the lake will also be restored. This work is part of a broader citywide initiative covering multiple lakes like Hebbal and Ulsoor, aimed at flood mitigation and long-term ecological restoration.
