Description
► The victim was shot three times at a close range.
Two teenage drill rappers shot another teen dead after a dispute on Snapchat.
On 26 June last year, Emmanuel Popoola, 18, shot Keanu Harker, 18, in the head and chest after chasing him on a high-powered electric bike, driven by his co-defendant, Tayvon Etefia, also 18.
The teenagers were convicted of Mr Harker’s murder and possessing a self-loading pistol on Monday and will be sentenced later this week.
The murder was motivated by rivalry between two Enfield gangs, the 3x3 and Get Money Gang (GMG), a court was told. Comments were made on Snapchat implying Popoola did not have enough money to buy data for his phone.
After the murder, gang members were said to have bragged in drill videos about the killing.
CCTV video caught the moments before and after the murder. It shows Popoola and Etefia stalking Mr Harker on an electric bike before pulling up beside him and firing three shots.
Mr Harker, who was also on a bike, fell off, and despite being shot, managed to crawl into the front garden of a house.
His attackers then fled the scene, discarded their clothes and the bike, and even attempted to get to France. Etefia was arrested on a train headed for France, and Popoola, in Paris, after police tracked his girlfriend.
Eliezer Mbaki, 25, Anais King, 19, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named, were also convicted of assisting an offender.
