Officials in Mentor have released body camera footage showing the aftermath of bicyclists being assaulted and the suspect charging at officers with a knife at his home before eventually being arrested following an hourslong standoff earlier this week.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Michael Leppelmeier. He faces charges of aggravated vehicle assault, felonious assault and robbery. Additional charges are pending. City officials said Saturday afternoon that Leppelmeier has been released from the hospital and will appear in court on Monday morning.
