The investigation, known as Strike Force Torlin, began in September 2025 targeting the supply of prohibited drugs across the region. On 19 March 2026, a coordinated operation led by the Southern Region Enforcement Squad, with support from multiple specialist units and ACT Policing, resulted in eight arrests in the Queanbeyan area. Search warrants carried out in Harrison and O’Connor uncovered two homemade firearms, ammunition, a gel blaster, more than $70,000 in cash, and drugs. One of the key arrests happened around 12.30pm in Jerrabomberra, where an 18 year old man was taken into custody after police used a taser. Officers allegedly found $4,000 in cash, cannabis, 43 MDMA capsules, mobile phones, and white powder. He was later charged with 19 offences, including ongoing drug supply and possessing a knife in a public place, and was refused bail. Later that day, around 1.50pm, two more men aged 18 and 20 were arrested in Queanbeyan. Police allegedly seized $25,000 in cash, 176 grams of cocaine, and a vehicle for forensic testing.
