Description

High school athlete Brooklyn Anderson somersaulted over the finish line during the OSAA State Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on May 31, after she tripped on the last hurdle of the 100m event. Footage captured by the NFHS Network shows Anderson, a junior at Thurston High School, dominating the race. As the athlete reaches the last obstacle, she is seen tripping and performing a double somersault across the finish line, winning the race in 14.93 seconds. “All I remember is resorting back to my gymnastics career and just somersaulting over that line,” Anderson said, according to Oregon Live. “I wasn’t sure how far back everybody else was behind me, so I knew to just keep rolling, to keep going, because I really wanted to get first.” Anderson, who chose to laugh about her epic finish, reposted pictures and pinned a video of the race to her Instagram page.
