The lease reportedly began in October 2025, with Google paying a monthly rent of approximately ₹10.55 crore at a rental rate of ₹171 per square foot. The agreement also includes a security deposit of about ₹63.65 crore and a clause under which the rent will increase by 15% every three years. Industry experts say the transaction ranks among the biggest office leasing deals signed by a technology company in the country. The announcement has sparked widespread discussion online, with many people surprised that a single office lease could involve hundreds of crores of rupees. Real estate analysts, however, say global technology firms continue to invest heavily in India as the country strengthens its position as a major engineering, research, and Global Capability Centre (GCC) hub.
