Description
The best coastal quarries in the country? That's a matter of personal opinion but these must be up there.
Today we are walking the quarry coast of Purbeck on a truly amazing day when the weather defied the forecasters 😀 Starting at Worth Matravers, we follow the Priest's Way to Spyway Barn where we turn off to drop down to Dancing Ledge. After exploring the quarry ledge, we head west along the Dorset Coast Path, passing Hedbury and Seacombe on route to Winspit where we turn inland again to return to Worth Matravers. We end the day by exploring the Norman church of St Nicholas before being blessed with an amazing sunset.
In Part 2, we enjoy lunch at Seacombe before exploring the upper and lower ledges. We then walk on to Winspit where we check out the amazing caves left by the quarrymen, walking along a precarious ledge to reach some of them. We then turn inland to once again reach Worth Matravers.
Oh yes, and I make a new friend......I'm not saying who but he purrs 😂
