Field Surgery Rescue - Painful But Necessary

This seal was caught in not one but two separate loops of fishing line, a brutal and painful entanglement that left deep wounds around his neck. The rescue was more like field surgery, requiring precision, teamwork, and nerves of steel. The seal barely moved, not because he was calm, but because fear had frozen him. We hate that we have to cause more pain to help, but it’s the only way to save him. It shouldn’t have come to this. Every discarded fishing line puts lives at risk.
