Description

My final post from last week’s Canadian World Team Tryouts. Here are my the first two rounds of the event. Two beautiful rounds for us… except— two missed weave entries. 🤦‍♀️ And yes— I am the creator of the 2x2 method. A system that gives dogs the clearest understanding of entries. But understanding isn’t the same as experience. At speed… in high arousal…history has a voice. Watch to the end. Prophet’s history with those first two poles on dirt matters. What mattered last weekend wasn’t the misses. It was: My response. And Prophet growing trust. I came out of the ring and saw the run for what it was—an outstanding run. Amazing skills shown by my dog. Excellent execution in my handling. Prophet was responsive. He stayed thoughtful in drive. He didn’t touch a bar. And I stayed present after the miss. You don’t go into an event expecting things to go wrong. But you do need to be ready when they do. Because, for me a run is never defined by the mistake— it’s defined by what happens next. No let down. No emotion in the moment. Just acceptance and flow. Staying in the moment kept us in it. After these runs, we were: Still in the top 10. Still earning points Still keeping the dream alive—with my 2½-year-old dog. Perfect is never the goal. Flow is. Progress is. Stacking moments where teamwork shows up—at speed. That’s what Prophet and I constantly building towards.
