Description
High pressure is building for NZ this week but Easter Weekend may see some wet weather potential, especially in the second half of the four day weekend.
Apart from some showers this week most regions lean drier, with temperatures slowly lifting a cooler reset today.
By next week there is a big question mark about our weather - we have the chance of a locally formed low developing and bringing some wind/rain going into next week, but we're also monitoring the tropics with low pressure zones from the Solomon Islands to Fiji looking to form a tropical cyclone, or maybe two. While some updates have shown NZ having a direct hit, other updates have not - or have changed the timing. For now we're more focused on WHERE specifically this cyclone may form and the immediate track in its first few days, and that doesn't include New Zealand at this point. We may not know how NZ might be affected until the end of this week, or potentially even the start of next week (depending on what develops later this week between the Solomon Islands and Fiji).
