Sri Lankan Elder Loves The British! 🇱🇰🇬🇧

I met an elderly man in Jaffna, Sri Lanka and asked him a few questions about The British Empire. Turns out... he really liked them! Keep in mind that the British Monarchy remained head of state until 1972, so he would've been ~18 when they left. Ceylon (Sri Lanka) was run very differently between 1948 - 1972 so he would've grown up in a more stable political environment. #srilanka #britishempire #colonialism #perspective #travelvlog
