Japanese Monkey Accidentally Falls from Apple Tree

The Japanese monkey (aka snow monkey; Macaca fuscata fuscata, family Cercopithecidae) is very good at tree climbing. But two cases of falling from trees were caught on camera at the apple orchard. (1) An adult female carelessly slipped and almost fell from the branch of an apple tree (Malus domestica, family Rosaceae) as she ate unripe fruits in the orchard. (2) The second individual was a juvenile, dropping accidentally from the perch. A thin horizontal branch where the juvenile (female?) monkey was sitting snapped at the fork under its weight, causing the monkey to free-fall. Fortunately, the poor monkey was uninjured and she climbed back up the tree. And then, she leapt to the adjacent tree to hide from me. The moments of truth were replayed at 5x slow-motion (0:51-).
