❤️🦈 Watch till the end to hear about the most important issues and what’s next. 🏝️ During our visit to the beautiful Seychelles Islands, we were invited to meet with former and current presidents and administrators to learn about—and share our support for—the potential expansion of their conservation initiatives. 🌊 We had the incredible opportunity to explore the outer Seychelles atolls, hosted by @blueSafari_collection in the Alphonse Island group. There, we found beautiful reefs, seagrass beds, abundant fish, and sea turtles—but sadly, only a few sharks. We did, however, get to explore an important shark, ray, and seabird nursery habitat, and worked with the local resort team to clean up marine debris as part of ongoing efforts to preserve this wild and critical ecosystem. ⚠️ The use of FADs (Fish Aggregating Devices) and derelict fishing gear remains a serious threat to marine life and reefs in the Seychelles. Through local research supported by @alphonsefoundation@bluesafari_conservation we also learned that shark is still consumed by some communities—raising concerns not only for shark populations, but for human health as well. 📚 With the support of @_lolo.f & @thedannyfaurefoundation we spoke with local students about the environmental, economic, and health benefits of protecting sharks. I hope Seychelles continues to expand its conservation efforts to include shark protections, just as they have successfully done for sea turtles. ✈️ @juansharks and I are grateful for this experience and look forward to following conservation developments here as we head to our next shark conservation project in Europe. 🤝 Please follow @thedannyfaurefoundation @filipe_deandradeand @slicklizrd , and @brianmoghari (tagged in this post) to learn more about the Blue5 project and its conservation education curriculum. We’re hopeful for future conservation announcements from the Seychelles government ❤️🦈 #ocean #sharks #travel #conservation #explore #ocean, #sharks, #sharkconservation, #marinelife, #oceanlife, #savethesharks, #protectsharks, #apexpredator, #marineconservation, #oceanconservation, #saveouroceans, #oceanhealth, #ecosystem, #balance, #nature, #wildlife, #oceanlove, #blueplanet, #earthfocus, #conservation, #protectwhatyoulove, #coexist, #respectwildlife, #sustainableoceans, #oceanawareness, #marinescience, #underwaterworld, #freediving, #divinglife, #oceanexploration, #oneocean, #oneoceandiving, #oceanramsey, #sharkdiving, #freedive, #oceanadventure, #underwaterphotography, #oceanphotography, #sharklove, #sharkeducation, #savemarinelife, #marineecosystem, #oceanprotection, #climateaction, #plasticpollution, #stopplasticpollution, #reefprotection, #coralreef, #savethereefs, #oceancommunity, #globalconservation, #wildlifeconservation, #naturelovers, #protectnature, #environmentaleducation, #conservationeducation, #futuregenerations, #bethechange, #actnow, #makeadifference, #islandlife, #seychelles, #travelwithpurpose, #ecotourism, #oceantravel, #exploretheocean, #naturetravel, #wildandfree, #adventureculture, #oceanvibes, #seaturtles, #savetheseaturtles, #marineanimals, #oceancreatures, #underthesea, #bluewater, #oceanmagic, #waterislife, #planetearth, #ourplanet, #sharkfacts, #didyouknow, #learnaboutsharks, #educateyourself, #knowledgeispower, #oceanfacts, #marinelove, #wildlifeeducation, #protectmarine, #oceanguardians
