* Salt: 1 tsp (or to taste)
* Turmeric Powder: 1/4 tsp
* Fried Onions: 1 Cup
* Oil: 1 Cup (use less if mince has high fat content)
* Ghee: 1/2 Cup (for cooking)
* Green Chillies (slit): 4-6
* Garam Masala Powder: For sprinkling before 'Dam'
**For the Freshly Ground Masala:**
* Cumin Seeds (Zeera): 1 tbsp
* Green Cardamom (Choti Elaichi): 3
* Star Anise (Badiyan ka Phool): 1
* Black Cardamom (Bari Elaichi): 1
* Cloves (Laung): 3
* Long Pepper (Peepli): 3 (optional)
* Cinnamon (Dalchini): 2 small pieces
* Coriander Seeds (Sabut Dhania): 1 tbsp
* Fennel Seeds (Saunf): 1 tbsp
* Black Peppercorns (Kali Mirch): 1 tsp
