After servicing this 1981 high-end Cybernet 134 set (upper tier version of the chassis), it was time to test it.
N.B for some unknown reason the GPS overlay is out of sync & Mr C isn't doing 50MPH stationary at the traffic lights, nor 1.7MPH when the red car pulls out of Wilsford badly!
There was a lift on & stations were coming through from all over the UK & beyond. Around the Kelby turn I was in 2-way conversation with a gentleman in Southern Ireland.
Recorded 28th June 2026
Mr Chippie drove along our usual 6-mile test route, the 'wrong side' of a hill. He stopped at the five mile point to test this set as a low power static test. The radio was set for 4.0W for full power & 0.4W (400mW) for low power. Our own standard replacementl mike was used throughout.
Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio (and new mike) which is fitted to the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' marker on this video.
