Description

This isn’t the only way I pack parcels, it’s the “default” method, yet I also try to reuse a cast majority of the packaging materials that come into the workshop through the year, this could be loose fill, plastic bubble wrap, anything really, provided it’s in decent condition. It’s shoved into bags and hoisted up onto the mezzanine and then, when one of my online shops comes about, they’re thrown down and I’ll try to use as much of it as I can. Basically, if you ever receive a plastic-clad wrapped cup, that’s why. My next online shop will consistent entirely of these blue cups, (there’s four pourers too, but a vast majority of the update will be mugs). It goes live this coming Sunday 31 May, 7:00 pm BST and I recommend reading the “shop information” page on my website for further details as it can be a bit of a hectic event. As much as I hate to say it, it’s almost better to think of it as lottery and in cost cases there are far more people attempting to purchase something than there is quantity of pots, thus the system sort of has to pick and choose from those who checkout first. These cups are from a very limited-edition run that I made for a collaboration with The Financial Times last year and inevitably, as a potter, you have to over produce in order to meet the required amount safely, hence why I have some stock of these remaining. By the way, that smashing sound didn’t come from the box… I just happened to kick it into my shard bucket FULL of smashed pots. #pottery #satisfying #fail #handmade #ceramics
