Description
This week’s ASB Good as Gold recipient is Ben Prince-Saxon.
Ben has Cystic Fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic condition. In 2023, he began taking the pharmacy-funded drug Trikafta, and in 2024, he set an ambitious goal to run 12 marathons in 12 months to raise $25,000 for Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand. Through social media, speaking events, and interviews, he has been spreading awareness about CF while bringing people together to run alongside him in his marathons. Those who meet him describe him as humble, kind, thoughtful, and motivating. Before running his twelfth marathon, Ben had already raised $17,000 towards his goal. Running with lowered lung capacity, Ben’s efforts are nothing short of inspirational. Ben’s incredible journey is a testament to his strength and commitment to giving back to the community.
ASB is honoured to recognise Ben’s extraordinary efforts with $10,000 as this week’s ASB Good as Gold recipient.
