This Tiny Light Is Way More Powerful Than It Looks! | ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 SE Review

Today I’m testing the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 SE, a tiny 40W portable video light that seriously surprised me. In this review, I go through the design, brightness, colour temperature range, battery life, USB-C power options, diffusion, fan noise, low-light performance and how I’d actually use this as a filmmaker. ZHIYUN sent this light out for me to test, but they had no say in this video. These are my honest thoughts from using it in a real-world setup. The FIVERAY M40 SE is small, lightweight and easy to throw into a camera bag, but it still puts out a strong amount of light for its size. I test it indoors, show how it looks with and without diffusion, mount it to a tripod using a quick release setup, and take it outside at night to see if it can actually be useful in low-light situations. For solo filmmakers, content creators, YouTubers, wedding shooters, photographers or anyone who needs a compact light for quick setups, this could be a very handy piece of kit.
