Why are there tiny #dog shoes hanging on trees? In Northeast China, winter temperatures can drop far below freezing. In response to such frigidness, many people put shoes on their dogs to protect their paws from the icy ground. When a shoe gets lost, passersby often pick it up and place it somewhere visible — like on a tree — hoping the owner will find it later.
