The Dogs Get to Go Dog Sledding!

It was nice to finally get the dogs out on the dog sled. As much as I love doing this with the dogs, it does make me sad that Memphis, who is now almost 13, is officially retired from pulling the sled. Eleanor and Kira do pretty good, but I feel like Kira didn't have enough training with Memphis over the years to really understand what I want her to do. So I'm going to have to work a little bit harder for her to understand the commands, but she's doing really good. Part of the way we're practicing now is by having my husband, Jamie, ride his e-bike out in front of us. That way Kira and Eleanor want to follow him, and we can train them commands as we make turns, which I also use those commands when we're walking. So Kira does seem to understand pretty well what I'm asking her to do. Memphis stayed home and enjoyed some peanut butter inside her ball, and when we got back, she had no idea we had even gone anywhere. Dog Sledding is a lot of fun for us!
