Latest Car News India | India's hottest SUV segment is about to get even more competitive. From hybrid-powered Maruti SUVs to the rugged Mahindra Vision S and the all-electric VinFast VF3, here are 10 exciting sub-4 meter SUVs expected to launch in India over the next few years. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1️⃣ Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift (Expected: Diwali 2026) The updated Brezza is expected to receive minor cosmetic changes, new features and a significant mechanical upgrade. Reports suggest Maruti could introduce the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine producing around 100 bhp. An underbody CNG setup and improved fuel efficiency are also expected. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 2️⃣ Maruti Suzuki Fronx Facelift (Expected: 2027) The Fronx facelift is likely to bring ADAS features, updated styling and Maruti's new strong-hybrid technology. Existing engine options are expected to continue, while the hybrid version could become one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in the segment. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 3️⃣ Hyundai Compact Electric SUV (Expected: 2027) Internally codenamed HE1i, Hyundai's new compact EV is expected to be based on the globally sold Inster EV. It could rival the Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV with a practical city-friendly design, modern connected features and competitive pricing. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 4️⃣ VinFast VF3 Electric (Expected: H2 2026) The VF3 is a compact 2-door electric SUV designed primarily for urban usage. Global-spec models offer around 200 km of range and are powered by a single electric motor. India could receive Eco and Plus variants. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 5️⃣ Mahindra Vision S (Expected: Late 2026 / Early 2027) The Vision S concept previews Mahindra's future rugged compact SUV. Built on the new NU_IQ platform, it is expected to feature a boxy "mini Scorpio" design, diesel and petrol powertrain options, panoramic sunroof, ADAS and a feature-loaded cabin. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 6️⃣ Kia Sonet Next Generation (Expected: Late 2027) The next-gen Sonet is expected to move to a new platform with a longer wheelbase for improved rear-seat space. Larger screens, Level-2 ADAS and upgraded connected-car technology are expected, while current turbo-petrol and diesel engines may continue. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 7️⃣ Tata Scarlet / Mini Sierra (Expected: Diwali 2027) Internally known as the Scarlet, Tata's compact lifestyle SUV is expected to borrow design inspiration from the iconic Sierra. Engine options could include Tata's 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a new naturally aspirated petrol engine. Rugged styling is expected to be a key highlight. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 8️⃣ Renault Bridger (Expected: H2 2027) Renault's upcoming sub-4m SUV is expected to sit below the new Duster. It could use the heavily localised RGMP platform and feature a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The focus is likely to be on practicality, value and rugged styling. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 9️⃣ Volkswagen Tera (Expected: 2027) Volkswagen's first sub-4m SUV for India is expected to be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform shared with the Skoda Kylaq.
