Exploring and modifying the focus of a cheap LCD microscope

This little device is an incredibly useful tool for getting numbers off tiny surface mount components, but as supplied the focus had been locked to a very close position, making it tricky to get close enough to some components to see them clearly. This video is a quick look at the insides and how to adjust the focal distance by turning the lens in its threaded barrel. Unfortunately this is not made easy by the lens being locked with glue and access to the insides being made difficult by hidden screws under awkward self adhesive panels.
