Kids can't read, and the numbers prove it is not just an internet meme anymore. Only 30 percent of fourth graders in America are reading at grade level right now. That means 7 out of 10 kids in elementary school cannot read proficiently. Schools are failing an entire generation, and instead of fixing the problem, we handed them iPads, shortened their attention spans with TikTok, and now AI is doing their thinking for them. Teachers are sounding the alarm that students are using ChatGPT to answer basic questions in real time during class. Research is showing that AI use is linked to declining grades and even memory loss in students.
