Police officer accused of helping brother evade crash that killed teen | News 12

A Bethel police officer is accused of helping her brother evade a deadly crash in Shelton. Jessenia Beamonte turned herself in to Connecticut State Police this week. Beamonte is charge in connection to the crash that killed 14-year-old Chloe Ramsubhag. Beamonte wasn't directly part of the crash, but her arrest warrant says her brother was. Police say he had been drinking before causing the three-vehicle crash last year that killed Ramsubhag. The warrant claims Beamonte's brother fled the scene and called her, who picked him up nearby but waited an hour and 16 minutes to report the crash. Beamonte allegedly spoke with a Bethel sergeant and asked if her brother would have to take a field sobriety test if she brought him back to the scene. Instead, Beamonte drove him to the hospital. Beamonte was not on duty at the time but has been placed on administrative leave.
