Binatone Long Ranger 40 CB27/81 UK FM CB radio handheld - On The Air test plus bonus 31mar26

This is the second set from this customer. 3.5W transmit & 160mW on low power. Radio conditions were not good when we did this test. We constantly had to change channels as skip was coming in. In view of this the low powr test at 160mW was not receiveable. These excellent sets are from 1981. Mr Chippie drove along our usual 6-mile test route, the 'wrong side' of a hill. He stopped at the five mile point for a static low power test. The radio was set for 3.5W on full power & 0.16W (160mW) on low power. The built-in microphone was used throughout....there is no external microphone facility. Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio (and new mike) which is fitted to the test vehicle at no cost to us.
