This is the 5th and the last video of our Bhutan series. It's a two day episode in which we explored Bumthang and at the end we went to Trongsa. In between we did many activities which included sightseeing, local food and more. Beside the airport one can see the beautiful chamkhar river too. The airport provides quick access to Bumthang Valley which is the home to some of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred temples and monasteries. Jambay Lhakhang - It is one of the ancient temples of Bumthang. Inside the premises there are 3 temples which are Kalachakra temple - 15th century temple, Maitreya Buddha temple - 7th century temple and Guru Padmasambhava temple - 8th century temple. Once a year for 3 days in mid-November a dance called Tercham is celebrated at Jambay Lhakhang in Bumthang. Entry Ticket for temple: 500 - Nu (Ngultrum) 500 - INR (Indian Rupee) Yoezer Lhamo Tshongkhang - We also visited a local shop here where all Bumthang products were available like cheese, honey, tea, etc. We bought honey for us. Honey 500g: 600 - Nu (Ngultrum) 600 - INR (Indian Rupee) Buckwheat Noodles 150 - Nu (Ngultrum) 150 - INR (Indian Rupee) Pema Choling Nunnery - The nunnery is a monastic school (Shedra). It also houses about 100 nuns between 12 and 70 years of age. The nuns also perform prayers and rituals in the nunnery as well as for the villagers. Ogyen Choling Heritage Resort - We booked our accommodation here. It is a 14th century heritage site which has a functioning museum and also offers a stay too. Tariff - ₹ 9240 for double occupancy including Breakfast & Dinner Date - 28th March 2026 Ogyen Choling Heritage Resort Museum - It is known for its well-preserved historical artifacts, cultural preservation, and a high-end heritage stay experience. People believe that the 15th-century saint Terton Pema Lingpa jumped into the water with a lit butter lamp, promising to drown if he was a liar, but resurfaced with treasures and scroll scriptures with the lamp still burning. Dorjibee Village, Bumthang - In this village we had local Bhutanese food for lunch in a farm house. The food is amazing. Chamkhar Valley - In the evening we came back to Chamkhar Valley which is known for the religious and spiritual heartland of the country, also called the hub for culture, ancient temples, and natural beauty.
