Allah Almighty is Alim al Ghayb, meaning that His knowledge is intrinsic and absolute, whereas the Prophets are Muttali al-Ghayb, whom Allah grants knowledge of the unseen according to His will. Shaykh-ul-Islam further clarifies this important theological principle by explaining that Divine Revelation is the sole source of Prophetic knowledge, and that true faith in the unseen means believing in the unseen realities conveyed by the Prophet ﷺ. He also explains that the Keys of the Unseen belong exclusively to Allah. However, the very existence of these keys signifies that Allah may grant them to whomever He wills, thereby opening the treasures of unseen knowledge for them. Drawing upon authentic Hadith, he explains that the Holy Prophet ﷺ was granted the keys to all the treasures of the earth, and that he ﷺ, by Allah's permission, bestows these spiritual treasures upon the chosen and righteous members of his Ummah.
