Dal ki Dulhan/ Dal Pithi 🤌🏻☘️ Ingredients For Dal: • 1½ cup mixed dal (arhar ) • 3 glasses water • 1 tsp turmeric powder • Salt to taste For Dough (Pitha): 1 cups a i (rice flour) • Salt to taste • Water (for kneading) For Masala: • 2 tbsp mustard oil • 1 tsp jeera • 1 tsp finely chopped green chillies • 1 medium onion (finelv chopped). • 1 medium tomato (finely chopped) • 1 tbsp ginger • 1 tsp turmeric powder • 1 tbsp dhaniya-jeera powder • 1 tsp red chilli powder • Salt to taste For Tadka (Optional): • 1 tbsp mustard oil • 1 tsp jeera • 2 whole dried red chillies • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder • Fresh coriander leaves. Method: Wash and soak the dal (optional, 10-15 mins). Add dal, water, turmeric, and salt to a pressure cooker. Cook on medium flame for 2-3 whistles. Keep aside. In a bowl, add atta, turmeric, ajwain, and salt. Knead into a soft, normal dough (not too tight, not too loose). Rest for 5-10 minutes. Make small dough balls. Roll into small rotis. Cut into small round/diamond shapes or give any design you like. Heat mustard oil in a kadhai. Add jeera and let it crackle. Add green chillies, onion and sauté till golden. Add tomato and ginger-garlic paste then cook till soft. Add all dry spices andbcook till oil separates. Add cooked dal to the masala. Bring it to a boil. Add the prepared pitha pieces. Cook on low flame for 12-15 minutes until pitha is soft and cooked. Heat mustard oil in a tadka pan. Add jeera and whole red chillies. Switch off flame, add Kashmiri red chilli powder. Pour over the dal.
