#projectmotorracing Replay Ranked Race online - Round 4 Event: Group C Legends Cup Car: Nissan R89C Track: Nürburgring Nordschleife 24 Hours This is the fourth round of the Group C Legends Cup Event which takes place at Nürburgring Nordschleife 24 Hours Circuit. I find that it is a considerable challenge to tune my Nissan R89C for the incredible 24-hour Nordschleife track. Why? Mainly because there is limited suspension setup options for a race car that was certainly cutting-edge around 40 years ago. A lot of trial-and-error experimentation went into discovering a somewhat effective spring setup that can handle the rigors of the downhill and uphill bumps plus the dozens of medium-speed to high-speed bends that Nordschleife throws at you. So it's not surprising for me to admit there was indeed crash testing that went on during Qualifying session. Much of the emphasis was on test driving my R89C to get it ready for the upcoming race, so I didn't really bother trying to do a valid lap throughout this session. This seemed more like a glorified time trial session than a race due to the lack of drivers. However, I rarely if never turn down the opportunity to do a multiplayer ranked race at the best racing circuit in the world whenever it comes along. So I opted to stay in this race at The Ring no matter how small the field is. Anyway, I unfortunately committed several critical errors in this race -- one of which led to a crash into a roadside barrier! 🤦‍♂️ I was lucky only to crash while negotiating a slow bend when my R89C slammed into the barrier. So the damage absorbed by my R89C from this crash was relatively mild, and it's still in good enough condition to be driven despite having the moderately damaged bodywork, limited aero, and steering slightly off-center.
