Dhanraj has two sons and a daughter. The elder son Ram is married to Seeta. The younger son, Amar is in love with Asha and the daughter Uma, is married to Lallu Ram. Uma prefers to live with her mother instead of her in-laws. Mrs. Dhanraj wants Amar to marry a very rich girl so that she can accumulate more wealth through a large dowry. Ram finds that his brother Amar and his wife Seeta are very close, and starts suspecting them of having an affair with each other. He makes observations but is not ready to confront anyone. Ram's suspicions are still not laid to rest even when Amar marries Asha. Ram starts to drink and ends up getting friendly with a childhood friend, Deepa. Will Deepa be able to clear Ram's doubts? धनराज एक सौम्य स्वभाव का व्यक्ति है, जिसकी शादी एक अमीर, छोटी सोच वाली, नियंत्रण रखने वाली पत्नी से हुई है। धनराज के दो बेटे और एक बेटी है। बड़े बेटे राम का विवाह सीता से हुआ है। छोटा बेटा अमर आशा से प्यार करता है और बेटी उमा की शादी लल्लू राम से हुई है। उमा अपने ससुराल के बजाय अपनी मां के साथ रहना पसंद करती है। श्रीमती धनराज चाहती हैं कि अमर की शादी एक बहुत अमीर लड़की से हो ताकि वह बड़े दहेज के माध्यम से अधिक धन जमा कर सके। राम को पता चलता है कि उसका भाई अमर और उसकी पत्नी सीता बहुत करीब हैं, और उन पर एक-दूसरे के साथ संबंध होने का संदेह करना शुरू कर देता है। वह टिप्पणियाँ करता है लेकिन किसी का सामना करने के लिए तैयार नहीं है। जब अमर आशा से शादी कर लेता है तब भी राम का संदेह शांत नहीं होता है। राम शराब पीना शुरू कर देता है और उसकी बचपन की दोस्त दीपा से दोस्ती हो जाती है। क्या दीपा राम के संदेह को दूर कर पाएगी?
